People's Republic of China is situated in Southeast Asia, along the coastline of the Pacific Ocean. It is world's third largest country, after Russia and Canada. On the map the shape of the country reminds a rooster. The northern end of China is Mohe in Heilongjiang Province, the southern - Zengmu Ansha, the western – Pamirs, in the east the boundary of the country is the conjunction of the Heilongjiang (Amur) River and the Wusuli (Ussuri) River. China is bordered by 14 countries: Korea, Vietnam, Laos, Burma, India, Bhutan, Nepal, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakstan, Mongolia, and Russia. China is washed by East China Sea, Korea Bay, Yellow Sea and South China Sea. From the sea its neighbors are North Korea, Korea, Japan, Philippines, Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia and Vietnam. Climate of China is represented by many extremes. The weather of northern areas is rather cold. Winter months usually last from December to March. The southern parts experience very hot weather.
